Our staff are the backbone of our camp and are the reason so many campers come back year after year. We are fortunate to be able to hire all of our counsellor staff internally after they attend camp as a camper and have completed our CIT Leadership program. Many of our Support Staff – our Kitchen Staff, Maintenance Workers and Canoe Trip Leaders were also once campers or counsellors!

Join Camp Mi-A-Kon-Da’s cooking team as a Baker (Assistant Cook) for Summer 2025. For 2.5 months you will live onsite, working in a small team gaining a variety of key leadership skills and baking delicious desserts for excited campers. The Baker (Assistant Cook) is an important leader with the kitchen staff team as they oversee the baking of desserts and as well as assisting the head cook prepare for meals such as making salads and chopping vegetables. The Baker (Assistant Cook) assists in cooking, serving and putting away food under the Cook’s direction. When the Cook is off, the Baker (Assistant Cook) takes over the Cook’s duties. Without any power on the island, Kitchen Staff are vital to the set-up, serving, and clean-up of every camp meal. Kitchen Staff work as a team of six and are responsible for keeping the kitchen clean while assisting the cooking staff whenever required. Kitchen Staff are supervised by the Kitchen Assistant, and are responsible to the Head Cook, and Director. The Maintenance team are the backbone that keep Camp Mi-A-Kon-Da running and supplied. Maintenance Workers are responsible for the cleaning and upkeep of all camp facilities, maintenance of the camp water system, boat driving, camper transportation, and food delivery. Mi-A-Kon-Da is currently hiring for a short term contract to fill the position of Camp Nurse. The Camp Nurse or “Patch” is responsible for providing high quality nursing care to campers and staff. Patch looks out for the well-being of everyone at camp and is comfortable in promoting and maintaining everyone’s health.
